In 2014, Intermountain Healthcare announced that it would expand its outpatient services with the construction of the Outpatient Expansion and Med/Surgical Build-out on the Park City Hospital Campus.
The expansion project features the addition of more clinical space, as well as an Education Center that will serve as a venue for community and patient engagement. The Education Center has seating for up to 500 people. The 82,000 square foot Outpatient Expansion will provide additional administrative spaces, a Sleep Center, and space for physicians. The Park City Hospital LiVe Well Center will also be located in the new expanded part of the hospital. The new building features “shelled space” for future growth of the hospital.
The project also includes a build-out of approximately 4,000 square feet of existing space on Level 3 of the hospital for a new med/surgical department. The build-out adds 8 new patient rooms to Park City Hospital. Big-D Construction crews conducted site work including parking reconfiguration and landscaping. Interior upgrades include the hospital’s operating rooms, procedure center, orthopedic unit, and physical therapy clinic.
The project is LEED registered with the certification goal of Gold. Big-D Construction installed 270 solar panels. At its peak, each panel can generate 320 watts of power. Construction crews also recycled 86% of the waste from construction on the project.
