Ennis Lake House
Over 20 years ago, one of Dovetail’s founders, Tim Rote, had the opportunity to enjoy a fly fishing trip at Madison Valley Ranch just outside charming Ennis, Montana. That experience made a lasting impression on Tim, and likely played a role in Dovetail choosing southwest Montana as where to put down roots.
Fast forward to more recent times, and things have come full circle; when the owners of Madison Valley Ranch wanted to build a home on scenic Ennis Lake, they reached out to Dovetail.
Mountain Views
Given the stupendous mountain views immediately to the southwest, the home was strategically planned to ensure the windows were positioned to take full advantage of the majestic panorama. An appealing combination of old timbers with contemporary steel elements are some of the highlights within a beautiful open floor plan concept. Generous dry-stack stone with steel accents are used for both fireplaces, and a custom Dovetail-built walnut bar is already a conversation starter over cocktail hour.
Outdoor spaces abound, which invites easy barbecuing just outside the kitchen door, or chilling down at the lower level firepit — or direct access to the dock, where waterskiing boats provide something a little more exhilarating. We had as much fun building for these folks as we did fishing with them, and glad to play a role in helping continue their good-livin’ lifestyle in Ennis.
